During his time is residency, James Choucino developed a new body of works based around vinegar.

James conducted a series of interviews with artists and arts professional based in Blackpool to devise a series of characters for a new play – VACANT/OCCUPIED (2020). These characters are represented by specially blended and fermented vinegars using ingredients derived from these initial interviews.

During his time in residence James produced a series of broadcasts through Abingdon Studios Instagram account of vinegar fermenting. These broadcast were accompanied by reading from the play.

James has made available the script of the play and the audio which accompanies the stage direction.
